I am Barabbas embroidered Tee

Barabbas is a figure from the Bible, found just hours before Jesus was crucified for our sins. Pilate, the Roman governor, presented the crowd with a choice: he could release Jesus—who had done no wrong—or Barabbas, a man guilty of rebellion and murder.

The crowd shouted, “Give us Barabbas!” (Matthew 27:15-26).

My shirt says, “I am Barabbas” because much like this man 2,000 years ago, I deserve punishment for my sins. Yet Jesus, the perfect and innocent Son of God, took my place.

Barabbas walked free because Jesus went to the cross. I, too, am free—not because of my own worthiness, but because of Christ’s sacrifice.

I am Barabbas.
